We are currently seeking an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our Finance and Administration department.
Position Description: The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for the payment of goods and services purchased by the organization. This role ensures that invoices are accurate and that proper accounting procedures are followed for the purchasing and prompt payment of goods and services.
Reviews all invoices for appropriate documentation* and approval prior to processing for payment. (*3-way match: PO, Receiver, Invoice)
Prints and obtains signatures on all accounts payable checks.
Distributes signed checks as required.
Prepares garnishment checks per reports from payroll.
Answers all vendor inquiries and work to resolve any discrepancies.
Maintains all accounts payable reports, spreadsheets and accounts payable files.
Assists financial management and other accounting personnel as necessary.
Assists in monthly closings of payables and to a lesser degree other accounting functions
Prepares analysis of accounts, as required.
Insures required competitive quotes and purchase support are in place
Performs filing and copying.
High School Diploma and at least 4 years of accounts payable experience
Proven work experience in the accounts payable function is required
General accounting knowledge.
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Knowledge of JD Edwards is a plus
1-2 years of manufacturing payables is a plus
