You may be just the person we need.  We are currently seeking a Vice President of Manufacturing to join our Leadership Team.

 

Position Description:  This position will direct and develop department heads in logistics, manufacturing operations (production), maintenance, and material control.   This position will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and will serve as a member of the leadership team.  Primary duties include:

Strategic planning and execution to enhance profitability, productivity and efficiency throughout the company’s operations.
Develop and direct the management and supervisory team of the company’s manufacturing processes that will ensure efficient order processing, accurate inventory control, proper and timely receipt/stocking of materials, production per schedule, cost-efficient shipping direct to construction sites and effective processing of defects and repairs.  Manage logistics and outbound transportation processes.
Ensure internal customer satisfaction, improved efficiency, minimize waste/scrap, drive revenue growth and improved employee product knowledge and training.
Work with manufacturing management and industrial engineers to implement processes and systems that will generate higher productivity and revenues.
Manage the department to ensure all operational systems are continuously evaluated for relevance, proper operation, utilization and scheduled maintenance.
Maintain infrastructure, production equipment, and facilities.
Interact regularly with leadership team and individual department heads to ensure that company’s operational priorities are aligned with total company direction.  Maximize the scheduling of projects in production to maximize schedule effectiveness.
Continually investigate and introduce process improvement measures and present suggestions to CEO for consideration.
Participate in vendor negotiations for highest $ volume materials and services to avoid production interruptions and maximize cost-efficiency.
Participate with leadership team in formulating and administering company policies and developing long range goals and objectives.
Be a Champion of Safety by example and stress the importance of a safe and compliant work environment to all in the Manufacturing environment
Serve on or lead special team projects to review and analyze operational processes, workflows, and equipment with a goal of maximizing productivity and profitability to determine the need for changes in those areas to better achieve.
Recommend capital expenditures for acquisition of new equipment to increase efficiency and services of operations department.
Motivate, coach, train, and develop crew members to ensure employee success.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (Engineering degree and/or MBA a plus).
  • Minimum of five years of experience in the management of plant operations (pre cast concrete experience is preferred).   
  • Experience with precast concrete manufacturing or manufacturing within the construction industry is required.
  • A clean driving record and current driver’s license are required. 
  • Must demonstrate managerial skills appropriate with this position.
  • Moderate to advanced computer skills including proficiency in MS Office.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
