“On behalf of our City Council and Honorable Mayor, I wish to extend the City of Ocala’s grateful appreciation for completion of our downtown parking garage…I have been associated with the construction of numerous large capital improvement projects for more than twenty years and have never experienced this level of company performance and delivery.”

Drawing Inspiration From Covey’s Seven Habits

If you have ever read the book “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People” you probably remember the basic tenets for personal effectiveness created by Steven Covey:

  • Habit 1: Be Proactive
  • Habit 2: Begin with the End in Mind
  • Habit 3: Put First Things First
  • Habit 4: Think “Win/Win”
  • Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood
  • Habit 6: Synergize u Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw

At FINFROCK, we have drawn inspiration from these seven habits by developing a series of principles that provide guidelines for how we do business.

In Covey’s book, he writes that highly effective people make the decision to improve their lives through things they can influence rather than simply reacting to external forces. We have used this philosophy as a motivating force to streamline how you can purchase a building. Our proactive approach to delivering buildings as a product rather than as a series of services is a strategically developed alternative to the way our industry typically operates. When working with clients, we deliver a low risk, cost effective, faster method of building because we employ these principles.

To learn more about how FINFROCK has embraced the “Seven Habits” for the benefit of our clients, turn the page.

Being Proactive Drives Innovation

Over the years, we have worked on thousands of projects. After seeing inefficiencies of traditional project delivery systems, we took a proactive approach to developing a system that would provide the desired benefits: reduced risk, lower costs, and reduced onsite construction time all while continually improving the quality of the product. Working with FINFROCK, our clients no longer have the hassle of dealing with disparate companies, cost overruns, and scheduling issues inherent in a traditional building process.

Begin With The End In Mind

“Beginning with the end in mind” is critical to every project we undertake. Our mission is to provide excellent customer value by delivering a product rather than a series of services. Accordingly, our team of experts comes together early in the process – collecting input from our design, manufacturing, construction and subtrade experts. Our experts use our innovative and highly customizable building systems to achieve the end you have in mind.

First Things First – Is It A Good Fit?

Our interpretation of putting “first things first” is to approach a project with a strategic, realistic mindset. Before you make large investments in a potential project, FINFROCK is able to ascertain whether our delivery and building systems are the best option for what you have in mind. A “Win/Win” mentality is critical to our success and to making our clients successful. This is a strategic principle for FINFROCK – we seek out projects that are mutually beneficial. Consequently, we avoid bid situations when they are ill-suited to delivering our value proposition.

Understanding The Economics

When embarking on a new project, we “seek first to understand” by thinking about how decisions impact economics downstream. From the beginning of every project all the way through to completion, on-going communication happens between our team of experts. As a result, our customers are assured that the team on their project is working together toward a common goal rather than having to deal with separate entities working in silos. Our team of experts meets regularly to discuss every aspect of a project. This collaboration mitigates project risks that could negatively impact a project schedule, quality and costs. Ongoing, transparent communications between all disciplines is essential to a successful project.

The Power Of One

When a client works with FINFROCK, they work with one “synergistic” organization. In essence, we are one construction company, one design company, one transportation company, one erection company, one software company all drawing from a common resource – and working toward a common goal. Because of vertical integration, all departments are working in close proximity, thereby maximizing productivity. This synergy creates efficiencies which result in significant cost and time savings.

Learning From Experience

Our culture incentivizes and rewards every employee for “sharpening the saw” individually and collectively. Employees are encouraged to increase their knowledge and skills as well as imparting this knowledge to others. As a result of this mindset, we have developed a highly sought after professional development program. Each year, this program attracts top talent from leading universities. Consequently, the professionals on our team understand all aspects of delivering your project.

The Proof Is In The Delivery

Our work with the City of Ocala on a recent project illustrates how we have successfully applied our company principles to achieve desired outcomes for a client. We completed the project well ahead of schedule and significantly under budget. The City Manager, John Zobler, was so impressed he wrote us a thank-you letter and encouraged us to share it in our marketing efforts.
