Receiving Specialist Job Description
Receive material receipts accurately with no errors.
Verify Shipped quantities with accurate count.
Coordinate the material flow from arrival to put-away.
Run Receiving Reports Daily.
Work with Production, Planning, and Purchasing teams to maintain accurate and on time purchase order delivery.
Maintain and update Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Cash metrics for Receiving department.
Maintain accurate filing of all receipts and documentation.
Conduct audits for Inventory, 5S and Safety.
Move material within the warehouse and manufacturing plant.
Problem solves issues that arise using root cause counter measures.
Must be able to work independently and also with team.
Flexible and willing to work in other areas as needed per business needs.
Must be able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by work area, such as safety glasses, gloves, and steel toe shoes.
Must follow all standard work procedures.
Must follow all established company SAFETY policies and demonstrate safe work practices.
Must be able to identify unsafe conditions and report them to department supervisor, manager, or Safety Coordinator.
Deal with complexity in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Proven work experience in the Purchasing/Procurement function is desired in a Manufacturing and/or Construction environment.
Appropriate education and experience would include an Associate’s degree (A.A) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and three to five or more years of directly related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in incoming receiving function
OSHA approved forklift license, required
Basic knowledge of JDE System
Basic computer skills, ability to work in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Sending and receiving emails.
Strong English communication skills (read, write, and speak) Bilingual a plus
Basic knowledge of LEAN techniques, preferred
Ability to work overtime on a regular basis
Detail-oriented and organized
