Universal Resorts opened the doors to its Surfside Hotel at the Endless Summer Resort on June 27, 2019 — just 15 months after groundbreaking — as the fastest and most efficient hotel construction project the company has ever completed. FINFROCK acted as the architect of record, structural engineer of record, precast concrete manufacturer, and general contractor, utilizing the DualDeck® Building System to deliver a total precast/prestressed concrete solution.
The two properties of the Endless Summer Resort house a total of 2,800 rooms — Surfside with 750 and Dockside with 2,050 — and is located at the intersection of Universal Blvd. and International Drive on the property that was formerly home to the Wet ‘n Wild water park.
FINFROCK also provided much of the infrastructure throughout the resort, including all elevators and circulation cores, the central chilled-water plant, the parking garage, and the scope associated with high-rise specific code aspects.
