Precast concrete’s inherent properties make it a natural choice for achieving sustainability with today’s new buildings. With weather and climate disasters projected to increase –the most sustainable building becomes the one that is strong enough to be built once.
LEAN MANUFACTURING OPERATIONS
Lean Manufacturing focuses on decreasing the waste in a production environment, which in turn increases both efficiency and quality. By viewing our own manufacturing processes through these strategies, we create better standards for our precast facility to operate with.
The lean manufacturing focus to remove waste is achieved through many organizational techniques such as 5S, Visual Management, and Gemba Walks.
A Lean mindset impacts both how teams interact and how efficiently or fast teams deliver a project. Miscommunication errors decrease as project stakeholders are engaged to work together creatively and collectively to address issues
As part of instilling a lean culture among our employees, they are presented with opportunities to apply 5S strategies on projects that will reduce waste and increase value in their workspaces.

Our modular approach makes for less cluttered construction sites and delivery disruption to the local community surrounding the site.
Offsite construction reduces onsite labor, and in turn reduces the number of injuries and health hazards on the job site.
Construction with precast concrete causes minimal site disturbance and optimizes site space, allowing for high efficiency use of tight urban areas.
Unlike wood, precast concrete does not require harmful chemical preservatives to prevent deterioration.

Concrete from FINFROCK’s manufacturing plant is recycled as fill or road-based materials. Other materials such as wastewater are recycled into the concrete mix.
Precast concrete is a strong, durable, flexible material that delivers over 100 years of service life, making it resistant to elements and damage that would cause other buildings to deteriorate and end up in landfills.
Precast concrete allows flexibility for redesign or retrofit, so a building can be used for a variety of purposes by several owners over a series of decades.
